RFP: Part-time Contract Bookkeeper The Propylaeum Historic Foundation, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper (Independent Contractor) to support our team! If you have experience managing financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, we’d love to hear from you. ?? What You’ll Do: ? Maintain accurate financial records (AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations) ? Process invoices, expense reports, and payroll ? Prepare and analyze financial reports ? Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting ? Ensure tax compliance and support tax preparation ? Monitor transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies ?? What We’re Looking For: ? Proven experience in bookkeeping or office management ? Proficiency in QuickBooks Online & Microsoft Office Suite ? Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills ? Always operating through a mission-driven lens, Chelsea looks forward to serving the members of The Indianapolis Propylaeum through high quality stewardship and programming rooted in the organization's long held mission of supporting women, arts & culture, and historic preservation. We are thrilled to welcome our newest board member, Grace Meils! Grace has been working with non-profit organizations for more than 20 years including over a decade with Newfields a Place for Nature & The Arts where she serves as Vice President for Advancement. Grace is an admirer of May Wright Sewall and her contributions to our city. She has a great deal of experience working with membership programs and is ready to share her skills in this area with The Indianapolis Propylaeum. She is also interested in connecting with our members and volunteers and in gaining experience in board leadership. ? Grace graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Art History. Shortly after completing her studies she moved to Seattle, Washington and began her career as an art professional at the Seattle Art Museum (SAM). Her first role was curatorial assistant in the Asian Art Department. Her early career enabled her to discover her passion and talent for communications and fundraising, leading her to pursue a grant writing position and eventually serve as Director of Development and Communications at Seattle’s Pratt Fine Arts Center. In the realm of art sales, Meils was Gallery Manager before moving into the role of Marketing and Communications Director at Traver Gallery in Seattle. In 2012, she returned to Indianapolis, where she joined Ripley Auctions as a marketing consultant and Studio Glass Specialist before coming to Newfields in 2014.
