At The Hygiene Bank, we have launched the first ever Edible Soap, in collaboration with The Goodwash Company #onewashatatime. Want to hear more about it? Listen to our CEO discussing hygiene poverty, the edible soap and our petition to the Government to remove VAT on soap with Justin Macartney #StopTheSoapTax
The first ever edible soap that you can use to wash yourself or eat has been created to highlight the shocking reality that in the UK, the 6th?richest country in the world, millions of people are forced to choose between eating and maintaining basic hygiene. ? In the past year alone, 5.3m people in the UK have had to choose between buying food and toiletries, having to make impossible choices between feeding their families or keeping clean. ? New research from the Hygiene Bank has found that although almost 1 in 12 (8%) percent of the UK population are currently experiencing hygiene poverty, around 20 million people still haven’t heard of the issue and the profound impact it has on people’s daily lives. ? Now The Hygiene Bank is taking impactful action to highlight what is an invisible crisis, that many people may have never heard of, with the making of The Edible Soap, a protest product created to shine a light on the crisis of hygiene poverty. ? Each bar sold will directly result in a donation to The Hygiene Bank, in a bid to tackle this silent crisis that is impacting million of families across the UK. Additionally, the initiative will call for the removal of VAT in soap, encouraging the nation to sign a petition. ? Made with organic cacao butter, organic oat flour, avocado oil, tomato sauce, toast flavouring, bean flavouring, paprika, Celtic Sea salt, the soap has been created by The Hygiene Bank in partnership with ethical beauty company, The Good Wash #HygienePoverty #TheEdibleSoap #BasicNeedsNotLuxury #EndHygienePoverty #TheHygieneBank #SoapOrFood #InvisibleCrisis #HygieneForAll #NoVATonSoap #CleanAndFed #SupportHygieneEquality #ProtestProduct #GoodWashInitiative #DignityForAll https://lnkd.in/eE_TFX6r
