We're thrilled to share that the Davidson Entrepreneurship Club recently completed its first annual trip to San Francisco! At The Hurt Hub@Davidson, our mission is to provide access and exposure to innovation and entrepreneurship for all - and nothing exemplifies this better than experiencing the tech ecosystem of San Francisco firsthand. Our group of six talented Davidson College students had an incredible journey through the city, including riding in a Waymo through the rainy streets of SF on their way to meetings with distinguished alumni and industry leaders. We had the privilege of connecting with Davidson graduates working at leading companies including Oracle, Affirm, Waymo, Google, Discover Health, Intercom, Telemetry, Lyft, Cambrian, and LinkedIn. These generous alumni opened their doors, shared their insights, and demonstrated the impressive impact of Davidson's liberal arts education in the tech and startup world. Special thanks to all the alumni who hosted our students and to Elizabeth Brigham and Odysseas Koufos for organizing this transformative experience. We're already looking forward to next year's trip! #entrepreneurship #liberalarts #startups #SF

?? Fashion icon Stuart Weitzman brought his entrepreneurial wisdom to Davidson College! The legendary shoe designer behind the "million dollar diamond shoes" shared his famous "Stu-isms" with students, including why "risk is your best friend" and how to recapture "childlike imagination" in business. Students had the unique opportunity to model his iconic footwear and receive personalized career advice during an intimate dinner. As one student said, "This one line inspired me to take my customization ability to the next level." ?? Congratulations to Cameron Hardesty, founder of Poppy Flowers and Davidson College alumna! We're thrilled to share that Cameron has been named to Inc. Magazine's prestigious 2025 #FemaleFounders500 list, recognizing the most innovative and successful women entrepreneurs in America. Cameron, who previously shared her entrepreneurial journey as a featured Nisbet Lecture speaker, continues to inspire our community with her achievements in the floral industry. Check out her post below for more details about this incredible accomplishment!
I'm super honored to be a part of Inc. Magazine's 2025 #FemaleFounders500, a list of the most creative and inspiring female leaders in America. 2025 is off to an amazing start. It was six years ago this month that I decided to take the road less traveled, step away from some safe (but likely way less challenging/fun/brain-bending) career opportunities, and embark on what has been by far the most indescribably difficult, fulfilling, exhilarating challenge of my life in running Poppy Flowers. We're working some incredible things behind the scenes here, and with our new COO Anne Rodriguez on board, our future has never looked better. None of this would be possible without our passionate, dedicated, hardworking, majority female team -- and the 1,000+ small businesses we partner with across the country. I'm so grateful for this amazing group of people! https://lnkd.in/erw6tnz2?
