Have you read headlines about a recent intriguing study from Cleveland Clinic regarding the safety of xylitol and association with heart attacks and strokes? Dr. Amy Doneen, DNP, ARNP breaks it down here during an interview with?EPOCHTV. https://lnkd.in/gja7qmhb ? Spoiler alert: here are a few thoughts from Dr. Amy: "Xylitol has long been favored in the dental community because, when used at appropriate doses through mints and chewing gum and mouth rinses – xylitol can neutralize the acidity in the mouth and reduce dental caries and gum disease. This is important in the world of CV Disease prevention because both gum disease and dental caries infections are root causes of heart disease. Our recommendation – everything in moderation. This study does NOT provide sufficient evidence that Xylitol causes Major Adverse CV events. With that being said, our recommendation is to avoid sugar and artificially sweetened beverages and stick with water."

The BaleDoneen Method Preceptorship in Scottsdale, AZ last week was a tremendous success! Our The Prevention Center for Heart and Brain Health team spent 2 days of intensive continued education learning from the best-our very own Dr. Amy Doneen, DNP, ARNP and the incredible Bradley Bale, MD (authors of "Health Heart, Healthy Brain). The 150+ participants of the dental and medical community left the preceptorship feeling inspired to bring change to the healthcare system with the focus on PREVENTION and treating arterial disease by halting its progression in its tracks! We also had the privilege to learn from Julie Kembel and Robin Hass of The Richardson Group and Rick Merizon about Communication, Adaptive Leadership, and Tools for Integration of the BaleDoneen method to our individual workplaces. What a week! Thank you to all who attended and to the amazing presenters!

It's time to introduce one of our friendliest faces at?The Prevention Center for Heart and Brain Health! Meet Cassidy Castorena, RN! Cassidy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Western Kentucky University in 2016, with now 8 years of experience. She started working in the preventative/functional medicine setting where she realized her passion: finding and healing the root cause of disease. ?? That is also where she discovered the?BaleDoneen Method and fell in love with the comprehensive protocol! She is dedicated to anything healing and regenerative-in all aspects of health and for the environment. Cassidy has experience in the hospital setting (medical-surgical, gastrointestinal interventional unit, certified in nutritional IV therapy). She is a Recipient of the Daisy Award for "Extraordinary nurses" in 2019. ?? Cassidy likes to spend time with her husband, 2 dogs, friends or do anything outdoors. You can find her hiking, snowboarding, running, and kayaking the greater Spokane area. Thank you for all the important work you do each day, Cassidy!
