In 2023, a simple request for help from THNP sparked a chain of impactful moments from RJ. After a first call with Lauren through Taproot Foundation, what started as one volunteer hour quickly turned into an ongoing commitment. That dedication led to stepping into the role of CTO, taking on initiatives like hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds—an effort that enabled Lauren to attend multiple conferences, fostering invaluable connections for THNP. He now focuses on board expansion and strengthening the organization for greater efficiency, the impact continues to grow. ?? ??Guess what I learned today? I had no idea that out of 43.3 Million Health Insurance claims denied in 2021, only 60,754 were appealed, or 0.1% according to The Kaiser Family Foundation, KFF. And when you look at 9 out 10 people having limited #healthliteracy, 1 in 5 employees are also caregivers (in their free time?) and the "rules of engagement" in our broken healthcare system changes almost daily it seems, it all kind of makes sense, right?
