Thanks to Chad Strand, owner of 999-Tree for inviting our veterans to participate in Saluting Branches. This national day of service has over 4000 volunteers and donates more than 4 million dollars worth of work. Saluting Branches honors American service men and women by organizing volunteer tree and landscape care for the property dedicated to our veterans. When asked why he reaches out to The Healing Place every year, Chad responded "I know what it means to be an addict in recovery and feel useful…to have a purpose. There’s something special about a veteran being here donating their time. It hits closer to home." #Community #THP #Service #Veterans

Puppy Day at our Men's Campus was a huge success! Thanks to our amazing partners at the Kentucky Humane Society and Oxmoor Auto Group for making yesterday unforgettable. I was living in abandoned trap houses, I didn't have my family present, and I was just tired of living the life I was living with drugs and alcohol. The Healing place helped me change my life. It has made me recognize my old behaviors and helped me recognize what I needed to work on. It helped me structure my life back and allowed me to recognize that I do have a problem and I need to do something different to change it. It helped me understand that I need to be open minded to suggestions so I can become the person I need to be- a good son and a good role model. Today, I'm full of gratitude. I'm able to maintain a steady lifestyle, maintain my sobriety, have a good connection with God, and just become a better person each and every day."
