California State Universities (CSU) dominate the top spots in our new California Mobility Index (CMI). The new ranking system recognizes four-year institutions that best deliver on the promise of economic mobility for California learners from low- and moderate-income backgrounds. Eighty-seven percent of the top institutions on the CMI are from the CSU, many of which are broad-access, public institutions and HSIs (Hispanic -Serving Institutions). ?? Exciting Research Alert: Unveiling the True Value of Higher Education in California ?? Our latest report with College Futures Foundation, "California College Programs That Pay: Measuring Return on Investment Across Majors and Credentials," dives deep into a critical question: How long does it really take students to see a return on their educational investment? Key Insights: ?? Analyzed over 260,000 graduates across 2,695 undergraduate programs ?? Examined certificate, associate's, and bachelor's degree ROI ?? Discovered that the major and credential can dramatically impact financial outcomes The research reveals a stark reality: Not all educational paths are created equal. Some programs provide a clear path to economic mobility, while others may never deliver the promised return on investment. Transparency is key. Students deserve to understand the true economic potential of their chosen field of study before making a significant investment in their future. Read the full report and join the conversation. Together, we can drive meaningful improvements in our postsecondary education system. #HigherEducation #ROI #StudentSuccess #EducationResearch #EconomicMobility https://lnkd.in/eGe98YPw

OPINION by Eloy Oakley & Michael Itzkowitz: Institutional leaders and elected officials must lean into discussions that are happening right now about the value of a college education and how it ties to learners’ futures and where improvements can happen. While more questions must be answered — and more research will follow — one thing has become abundantly clear: Our higher education system can no longer be enabled by a “this is the way we do things” mentality in places where it is not working.
