Private label is having its moment - and nowhere was that more evident than at PLMA - Private Label Manufacturers Association's Store Brands Phenomenon 2024! Fresh from North America's largest private label show, here's what caught our attention: ??Record-breaking attendance: With 1,800 exhibitors across 3,000 booths, the show's energy reflected private label's trajectory - with dollar sales growth outpacing national brands almost every year for the past decade. Major retailers including Walmart, Costco, Target, Aldi, and Albertsons were all present. ? ??Strategic pivot post-inflation: Aldi President Dave Rinaldo shared their roadmap, including quality obsession, innovation acceleration, and cost control. A key challenge? Managing capacity as they expand to 3,200 stores within 5 years. ? ??Global sourcing: While international representation is always strong at PLMA, this year saw notably increased presence from European and SE Asian suppliers. Sourcing was at the forefront of many conversations, as retailers seek to diversify country of origin in the anticipation of additional tariffs.? ? ??Changing show dynamics: Major suppliers opted for smaller footprints, making room for more exhibitors. Big Meeting 2024 has come and gone and we are a bit speechless. By the talent that was displayed, the passion and energy in the room (and the number of people ??), by the way our team serves and shows up for each other. As a company of 300+ spread across the globe, these moments together are so precious. We used the time to learn and develop, to align on our goals for 2025, but mostly importantly to laugh, dance, celebrate, and perform Grammy award-winning karaoke numbers. While there were countless highlights, we have to spotlight: ? Our outstanding Values Awards winners (stay tuned for more on them) ?
