Hansen Company accountant Heidi Warren was recognized at the Master Builders of Iowa annual convention for achieving the Master Builder Designation. The honor is bestowed on a select few from the construction industry who earn a minimum of credits in a wide variety of industry subjects, including leadership, project management, safety, ethics, and ecology, through an assortment of continuing education classes. We’re proud of Heidi’s accomplishment and grateful to MBI for providing the training and courses to create life-long learners and leaders for the construction industry in Iowa.

The new LifeServe Blood Center Corporate Headquarters, Blood Processing Lab, and Donor Center project was selected at the Master Builders of Iowa’s annual convention as the Runner Up for the Masters Award.?This spectacular project was one of two finalists from a broad field of projects from across Iowa, judged by our peers in the construction industry.

It’s not every day that we can say we built the “Project of the Year” as awarded by the The American Institute of Architects (AIA), but today we can. The beautifully designed LifeServe Blood Center Headquarters by BNIM was bestowed this prestigious award by the Kansas City chapter of AIA. Not only is the design worthy of this recognition, but the project, led by Formation Group Inc. was a casebook study on teamwork, trust, and communication. The number of people the Urbandale Food Pantry serves in a given year is staggering.?And so are the quantity of food goods and hours volunteered.?With their new facility currently under construction, they’ll be able to do even more!?We couldn’t be more proud to be helping the Urbandale Food Pantry along with SVPA Architects Inc. and a host of other talented professional subconsultants and hard-working subcontractors to deliver their new home.?As the dirt flew via shovels and giant spoons at the groundbreaking, the hard work of feeding our community’s most vulnerable took a mighty step forward.?We can’t wait to finish and provide a facility that will serve the City of Urbandale and surrounding residents.?We’ll see you at the ribbon cutting!?

The National Association of Women in Construction NAWIC Greater Des Moines held its first annual Industry Appreciation Night, a smashing success!?Keynote speaker Perlla Deluca gave an inspiring speech about the role and future of women in construction and the THE PINK HARDHAT FOUNDATION.?The program helped to shine a bright light on the need for women to continue joining the construction field. It’s a wrap!?The 2024 The American Institute of Architects, Iowa Chapter Annual Convention is over, but we can revel in the awards forever.?This year, we were honored to have been a part of two award-winning projects, the Johnston City Hall and LifeServe Blood Center Corporate HQ. The LifeServe project won an Honorable Mention in the AIA Iowa Excellence in Design Awards.?We can’t take credit for the design but we can celebrate an amazing project and wonderful partners.
