For far too long, we’ve lived with a women’s healthcare system that views the natural bodily functions of women as problems to be managed rather than amazing natural abilities to be understood and supported. The current system is failing women because it suggests that women’s naturally ovulating, gestating, and lactating bodies are the problem. Today, a woman’s fertility, and her ability to get pregnant, are seen as something to be feared, and avoided. Much of the modern women’s movement is at odds with the natural functions of women’s bodies, and so we see women’s healthcare promoting practices like sterilization, long-term birth control, and abortion, which are opposed to our natural health. From adolescence through menopause, the prevailing model often prioritizes intervention over education, suppression over cooperation, and fragmentation over integration. But what if there was a better way? At The Guiding Star Project, we believe there is. We call it Wholistic Women’s Healthcare?—a radically refreshing, deeply intuitive, and profoundly empowering approach that recognizes the inherent dignity of the female body. Rooted in science, informed by experience, and centered on the whole woman, our model restores confidence in a woman’s natural design rather than working against it.
