关于我们
Since 1958 The Guidance Center has been committed to its mission to: Nurture development. Foster resilience. Cultivate well-being. Throughout the last six decades the agency has maintained a collaborative relationship with its local communities and schools to support adults and children experiencing mental health difficulties and other challenges. A group of concerned residents and educators recognized the need for mental health services in our area and joined forces in 1958 to help form The Guidance Center. Since then we have worked as a team to respond to the needs of children, adults and families in southeast Michigan. The agency operates a wide range of programs and services at 23 locations. Our expertise in mental health and wellness, early childhood education, free preschool for low-income families, developmental disabilities services and support, mentoring, substance use disorder, workforce development, Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), Champions of Wayne, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), and research and evaluation helps more than 15,000 members of our community annually work on their own personal triumphs in life.

For the second year in a row, the golfers and members of Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club have supported The Guidance Center through the Eagles for Children program. On Thursday evening, TGC Fund Development Officers Liesa Finazzo and Erin Southward attended the Eagles for Children Awards event to accept $6,000 awarded to the agency by the club to support our Cool Cuts, Styles and Smiles event. Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club raised $30,000 and awarded gifts to six local organizations. Total contributed to many nonprofit organizations through this great effort by all the country clubs is more than $1.37 million. Thank you for your tremendous and ongoing support, Grosse Ile Golf & County Club. It will brighten the hearts of so many children and parents in our community! #guidancecentermi #eaglesforchildren #grosseile #grosseilegolfandcountryclub #helpingothers

It's not often we receive follow up photos from the winners of our silent auction packages from our signature events. But we are in luck today. Grape Expectations for Kids Dinner committee member, Amanda Bussa (third from the left), hosted a group of women at Dior at The Somerset Collection as the winning bidder of the DIOR Beauty Party at the dinner last month at the Detroit Athletic Club. The group enjoyed a wonderfully fun evening and the kindness of the DIOR staff. Thank you all for your help to benefit our Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center! #DIOR #somersetcollection #kidstalkcac #guidancecentermi #helpingothers

The Guidance Center debuted this new Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center video created with TENTHIRY FILMS in collaboration with our Communications & Philanthropy Department and the Kids-TALK CAC staff at Grape Expectations for Kids Dinner on Thursday evening at Detroit Athletic Club. The work of this program and the topic are heavy, but what a blessing the program exists to lighten the trauma for children who need help and healing to move forward with joy. Gabe McDonald, the owner of Tenthirty Films, did an exquisite job capturing the life-saving work of the Kids-TALK CAC.
