The Grove

Looking forward to getting back to The Grove and Luxury Family Hotels soon after a significant health setback. In mid 2024 I was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease and unfortunately over Christmas went into kidney failure with my kidney function dropping to 6%. I’ve now started dialysis and after a period of adjustment have begun to slowly feel better and get used to a new normal. So after a prolonged ‘staycation’ at home, I’m excited at the prospect of being able to return to work soon! The brilliant team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust London, continue to give me fantastic care, advice and support which I am extremely grateful for. I hope to have a “live donor” transplant later this year, and it’s already been a life-changing experience for everyone involved. I’d urge everyone to think about organ donation and, most importantly, talk about it with your loved ones. Even though the UK now has an opt-out donor system, many donations are still refused because families aren’t sure of their relative’s wishes. If you want to be an organ donor, make it clear. (And if not, that’s okay too—no pressure!) Earlier this week, some of our team had the privilege of volunteering with Goods For Good, helping to pack essential boxes for those in need. Goods For Good delivers vital goods - clothing, shoes, hygiene essentials and more - to people facing hardship, both in the UK and around the world with the help of businesses, charities and communities, all while reducing waste and making surplus stock count. We’re proud to play a small part in their incredible mission! ??

This morning, we teamed up with Watford & West Herts Chamber of Commerce (W3RT) for a meaningful tree-planting event in our woodlands ?? A huge thank you to everyone who took part—your time, energy, and dedication to our local environment truly make a difference, and we’re proud to be part of such a caring community!

Last week, our spa team took part in a fantastic Facial Training session with Lisa Marie Hawtin and the team at Holistic Beauty Academy ??♀? Holistic Beauty Academy specialises in VTCT-approved holistic beauty courses, empowering therapists with the knowledge and confidence to refine their skills. This session focused on Level 2 Facial Massage and Skincare, enhancing our team’s expertise and allowing us to offer even more availability for our facial treatments.
