Staff from all branches of The Granite YMCA came together this past Monday to learn how to better serve our members, to recognize those who have made a significant impact on our community, and to celebrate those who have dedicated so much of their time to our cause. This is a very special year for Cindy Lafond, Robert Kimball, and Meg Norklun who are celebrating 30 years here at The Granite YMCA. Welcome back to New Hampshire, Ranjeet! Good luck running your 40th marathon on your journey to run 50 marathons in 50 states. We'll be cheering you on here at the CMC Manchester City Marathon every step of the way! Ranjeet, a member of The Granite YMCA, started his pursuit in June 2023 and has completed 39 marathons across 39 states so far. October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth! Throughout the month, we decorated our lobby and donned pink to help raise awareness and spread hope. Kim B., one of our Welcome Center staff members in Manchester, also participated the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk this past Sunday and raised over $1,700 for the cause! #BreastCancerAwareness #SupportTheFight

Not only are our staff donning pink in honor of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, but so are our members and program participants! Together, we are working to raise awareness and spread hope.

We're still going strong raising awareness for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth at The Granite YMCA by wearing pink on Fridays. This time around, our Association Office team wanted to get in on the fun! Did you know? The Y offers a free program called LIVESTRONG? at the YMCA for adult cancer survivors, family members, and caregivers. Through this program, we create communities among cancer survivors and help guide them on their journey to reclaim their health and wellness. Today marks the third day that our Granite YMCA of Somersworth Early Learning Center officially welcomes new families following our successful merger with the Early Learning Center at the YMCA of Strafford County. We couldn't be more thrilled to embrace this new chapter together! With a fantastic 98% of families transferring from our Rochester location, we're already feeling the love and energy in our refreshed space, complete with new flooring, fresh paint, improved lighting, and revamped classrooms. The best part? All of our dedicated staff have stayed with the Somersworth location, ready to provide the same nurturing environment our families are used to! ??? But that's just the beginning! We're also looking forward to exciting improvements coming this spring, including a brand-new playground for our little ones to enjoy. ????
