Improving people's lives by changing the way we govern
关于我们
The GovLab's mission is to improve people's lives by changing the way we govern. Our goal is to strengthen the ability of institutions – including but not limited to governments – and people to work more openly, collaboratively, effectively and legitimately to make better decisions and solve public problems. We believe that increased availability and use of data, new ways to leverage the capacity, intelligence, and expertise of people in the problem-solving process, combined with new advances in technology and science can transform governance. Housed at New York University Tandon School of Engineering, The GovLab is funded by various donors and partner organizations.

?? Seeking Inspiring Examples on How Social Data Transforms Health & Wellbeing Research The GovLab with the support of the Wellcome Trust Discovery Research team is conducting a new initiative called Social Data 4 Health. The initiative explores how new forms of social data (or non-traditional data) ?? ?? ?? ?? ??? can transform innovative health-related research in the humanities, social sciences, and public health domains. ?? To begin this work, we developed a topic map to understand the topics related to using new forms of social data for research that we should explore. ?? As we enter the next phase of this work, we are looking for examples of organizations and initiatives that are using or increasing access to new forms of social data for health and wellbeing research. This includes organizations supplying data ??, providing infrastructure to support experimentation ??, or supplying services to unlock data re-use ?. ?? Are you a social data researcher, data holder, or service provider? Or do you know someone who is? We would appreciate your input! Please submit examples ?? using the following Google Form or by emailing us at [email protected] https://lnkd.in/gNSFbYhG ?? Interested in learning more about this work? ???? Bringing Citizens into the Courtroom: How Digital Technologies Can Democratize Constitutional Justice ?? Constitutional courts remain disconnected from the citizens they ultimately serve, but #AI could transform this relationship, writes Alejandro Cortés Arbeláez of Universitat Pompeu Fabra on Reboot Democracy. By using technology to translate complex legal language into accessible information, create thoughtful digital forums for diverse public input, and develop collaborative mechanisms that allow citizens and experts to contribute directly to judicial decisions, courts can evolve from isolated institutions into centers of meaningful democratic engagement.
