The #AIActionSummit was a powerful reminder for Dominic Wilhelm, MSc. of human nature's central role in shaping the future of AI. In a space dominated by technical and commercial perspectives, the 'human' perspective is indispensable for this technology to serve society as a whole. Love and trust aren't afterthoughts in AI adoption, they're the bedrock. #Trust #Leadership #AI
Paris has me thinking about the nature of #Love. In my view, love makes deep #Trust possible and this enables the extraordinary in #Leadership, #Organisations and #Society at large. But it depends on your view of love. I'm not referring to éros, the love of romance (you're forgiven, this is Paris), but another kind - Agápe - also from the same Greek playbook of love. Agápe love is patient, letting trust emerge. It has your back, you’re safe to think out loud, be creative, even a bit crazy. And it chooses trust, even when you've messed up, forging pathways that logic cannot. Love-based trust shifts focus from a ledger of right and wrongs to a playbook for human nature. We’re not balance sheets. We need time, safety, and more than brute logic. Granted, love-based trust is not always needed, relevant, or easy. But, its the kind of trust that enables the extraordinary - in leaders, teams, and society. Trust changes everything. ---- The Global Trust Project, Daniel Shaw, David Ashdown, Errol Bryce, David Szafir, Naz Fredericks- Maharaj, Emmanuelle Nicholls, Elodie Delagneau, Bente Kristin Malmo, Katja Sievers, Bill Shipsey, Alex Searle

On February 19th, at Africa's Green Economy Summit, we’re convening a High-Level Dialogue on Trust in Carbon Markets. From 07:30 - 08:45 we will be tackling a burning question in sustainability today, "How to create trustworthy carbon markets?". Hosted by The Assidium Group and moderated by Dominic Wilhelm, MSc., Executive Director of The Global Trust Project, this intimate dialogue will bring together leading voices to explore how price identification and registry validity could act as key components in impactful carbon markets. The stakes couldn’t be higher. Carbon markets are at a crossroads - plagued by transparency concerns, regulatory uncertainty, and exclusionary practices. Without trust, these markets cannot deliver on their promise. This dialogue gathers influential leaders shaping the future of carbon finance as panelists, including: - Brett Stacey, CEO, Assidium Group - Bianca Gichangi, Regional Lead - Africa, Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative - Robin Bartmann, COO, Vlinder - Lawrence Cole-Morgan, Global Markets Lead, Carbon Credit Trading, Standard Bank With no slides, no press, no pitching, and a commitment to open, high-trust conversation, this session is designed to drive practical solutions. It's a focused opportunity for delegates to collaborate together to define actions and goals that will foster trustworthy carbon markets. While the dialogue is private and in person, AGES 2025 is not. Dominic Wilhelm, MSc., our Executive Director, has been representing the Global Trust Project at the #AIActionSummit in Paris this past week, making lasting connections with transformational leaders - advancing the global conversation on trust-based AI adoption. #TheGlobalTrustChallenge
No less here in Paris, at the AI Action Summit, the Rwandan spirit is a powerful, gentle force of nature. Meeting with Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, and Rwandan Ambassador to France, Fran?ois Nkulikiyimfura, was a joy and a highlight of my trip so far. Their presence underscored Rwanda’s growing role in the global AI conversation. With thanks to Honorable Minister of Education in Rwanda, Joseph Nsengimana, for trusting me with the introduction to his colleague and friend. And to Arthur Franzon for the thoughtful coordination. (On a related note: After being immersed in both the AI Action Summit and the soft launch of the Global Trust Challenge, I’m reflecting on what will be most valuable to share in the coming days - without exception, trust was fundamental or at least a critical theme in every session.) #Rwanda, #Trust&AI, #TheGlobalTrustChallnge, The Global Trust Project, Daniel Shaw, David Ashdown, Errol Bryce, Emmanuelle Nicholls, Elodie Delagneau, Diane McGown, Ben Pullen, Anazi Zote Piper, Olivia Mmama

Less than 2 years ago, we decided to lean into global reach. Big ideas, early days. But here we are. The Challenge is one of only 35 initiatives selected worldwide to be introduced at the Summit, recognised for its practical, real-world approach to AI governance. On February 10, in partnership with Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, IEEE, and AI Commons, the Challenge will be introduced at the Japan Cultural Centre in Paris! ?????? ???? ???????????? ????????????, ?????? ???? ??????????????. The AI Action Summit’s purpose is to ensure AI serves society and the public good. Its impact will be felt across governance structures worldwide. With 1,000+ leaders from nearly 100 countries, this is where AI governance, ethics, and accountability take shape. It's not about abstract principles. It’s about defining what trust in AI looks like in practice - from enterprise AI deployments to national regulatory frameworks. This syncs perfectly with what we mean by ‘operationalising trust’! ????'???? ???? ?????????? ???????? ??-???? ????????????????, ??????’?? ??????????????. Scaling isn’t just about growth, it’s about alignment. Alignment gained from people buying into a trustworthy vision. Without it, momentum fades and fracture ensues. The numbers speak for themselves: 1. Trust breakdown derails expansion – 70% of scaling efforts fail not because of poor strategy, but because of erosion of trust within teams, leadership, and stakeholders (McKinsey & Company, 2015). 2. Lack of cohesion slows execution – Disconnected teams lead to 30% lower collaboration, bottlenecking decision-making (Pumble, 2023). 3. Distrust multiplies operational costs – Low-trust companies spend up to 3x more on oversight and compliance, eating into margins (Colligo, 2023). Without a trust-first approach, growth turns into chaos. Strategies collapse. Teams disengage. Customers lose confidence. Want to know how? How do you see a lack of trust in the moment? In a recent 1:1 facilitation call, a client who had completed our 6-day email course asked: "How will I know there’s a lack of trust when I see it?" It's a great question. A lack of trust often appears in nuanced, observable behaviours - such as : 1. Isolation: A team member sticks to their tasks, hesitating to collaborate or share ideas. 2. Evasiveness: Someone chooses their words too carefully while steering away from important topics. 3. Deflection: When an issue arises, a person deflects responsibility or meets you with defensiveness. These subtle signals require careful attention and context to interpret, but they often point to underlying trust challenges. Want to explore how to address a lack of trust in your workplace? Onboarding isn’t just about logistics, it’s an emotional journey shaping a new hire’s ability to trust themselves, their team, and their future. Recently, in a free 1:1 Facilitation Call, a client asked: "How can I shift from intuitive to systematic trust-building in my onboarding process?" Their goal? "To improve new hire productivity and integrate them into our culture." Operationalising trust during onboarding requires sincerity and a depth of intention. Here’s how we recommended this client integrate trust into their onboarding procedure: 1. Share Your Vision: A compelling vision aligns new hires. Show how their role fits into the bigger picture, fostering purpose and commitment. 2. Model Vulnerability: Sharing personal challenges builds safety and encourages openness. 3. Foster Collaboration: Invite new hires to co-create open-ended solutions, stepping into ambiguity with support. Trust transforms onboarding from a transactional process to a relational immersion. What does it take to create an Anti-fragile team culture? Anti-fragile, a concept introduced by former trader and academic, Nassim Taleb, describes systems, relationships, or organisations that not only withstand stress and uncertainty but actually grow stronger and more resilient through challenges and disruptions. An Anti-fragile team culture arises when there’s a shared belief that, no matter the workplace issue, the team can work through it together. This culture thrives on open communication, where team members can address challenges in a way that works for everyone, leading to solutions that satisfy all parties and are resolved efficiently. Teams like this don’t just survive relational or workplace challenges, they grow from them. Every resolved conflict strengthens bonds, enhances adaptability, and builds resilience. The foundation of this belief? Trust. Trust creates teams that thrive under pressure and emerge stronger after every challenge. Ready to start building trust in your team?
