This #WorldChildrensDay, we call for solidarity and action for all children living through crises. Children who, in many cases, are being systematically unchilded. Unchilding, a term coined by Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian when portraying the decades of injustice faced by Palestinian children, describes the forced eviction of children from their childhood for political goals. Across the world—from Palestine to Sudan, Venezuela to Haiti—children are being used as tools of oppression by political regimes, treated as expendable, imprisoned, and deemed as less worthy of care than other kids. There is a self-sustaining cycle between the abuse of children's rights in crises and how the development sector, the global media, and the world at large politically chooses to neglect to respond to our shared duty of care. It's time to break that cycle. ?? In the face of crises, young feminists are organizing and leading humanitarian responses that address these systematic injustices ???? As shared by Girls' Rights Activist Favour Uzoma Chukwugolum, "Humanitarian measures that genuinely protect children are propelled by young feminist leaders. Their bravery and foresight pave the way for a day when crisis solutions are fundamentally infused with justice, equity, and care." Join us in amplifying their voices and working for a world where every child is safe, protected, and free to be a thriving child. ??

?? In times of crisis, girls and women often face the greatest challenges—yet their unique needs are frequently overlooked. Young feminist humanitarians understand that supporting menstrual and reproductive health is always essential. We're proud to highlight Pads4Her, an initiative by grantee partners Politics4Her, which provided menstrual health toolkits in earthquake-affected zones in Morocco. These kits, intentionally produced in collaboration with local women's cooperatives to further support the community, are accompanied by workshops that empower girls and young women with essential knowledge about menstruation and holistic health.?? ? Creativity lies at the heart of how girls and young feminists organize and transform the world. For many, it is the direct use of art in their activism – using poetry, graphics, illustration, murals, graffiti, music, spoken word, and other artistic forms of expression to agitate, protest, reimagine, and show the world what is possible. Art emerges as a tool for political awakening, education, healing, resistance, hope, and beyond. ???? The Narrative Revolution fellowship is a program that brings together 9 girls and young feminist artists and activists from across movements and regions to explore: What would the world look like, feel like, sound like if it supported the dreams, power, and resistance of girls and young feminists? ???? We invite you to join us on December 13 to celebrate the creative journey and powerful work of these young feminist artists. This community event will showcase their work and highlight the possibilities that arise when we support the dreams, power, and resistance of girls and young feminists. ?? ?? The event will be held in Arabic, English, Spanish, and French and will include sign language interpretation. ?? Date: December 13, 2024 ? Time: 2–3:30 pm UTC ?? ?? This reel showcases clips from @shams_dance_company and @gaza.boxing.women. Two of the young feminist groups the Global Resilience Fund currently supports in Palestine. @shams_dance_company, a Palestinian feminist dance collective in the West Bank, published the original clip and shared: ""For months, we have been working in Shams Dance Group to produce a feature film that reflects our Palestinian unity and highlights the ongoing war on our dear Gaza. Through this journey, we learned about the @gaza.boxing.women initiative; from there, we started cooperating, not only for the purpose of the film but also to share techniques and get to know each other. This group taught us perseverance, resilience, and creativity. Girls are experiencing the most difficult conditions, but they insist on continuing, whether it is in training or studying. We look forward to continuing to work together and dream of the day when we will be able to meet face to face."" @gaza.boxing.women is a transformative girl's sports initiative from Gaza. Despite the military destruction of their women's boxing club in Northern Gaza—and understanding the power of coming together in crises—they resourcefully reorganized training spaces for girls within their displacement camps. ?????? ??
