Last week, industry leaders from across India convened in Bangalore for the GNFZ Net Zero Conference. Mahesh Ramanujam awarded milestone certificates to projects advancing toward net zero and honored those leading the charge. Congratulations to all who were recognized—your dedication is driving meaningful change in India and beyond. ???? ??

Across the country, states are reaffirming clean energy commitments. While the federal government reverses course on several climate policies, nine states have enacted Buy Clean laws to boost demand for lower-carbon construction materials including steel, concrete, asphalt, and glass. From West Coast pioneers like California, Oregon, and Washington to East Coast leaders including New York, New Jersey, and Maryland, states are proving that climate leadership can start locally. Many of these policies specifically target embodied carbon in the built environment, which represents a significant share of global emissions—an estimated 11% coming from building materials alone. The U.S. Climate Alliance is helping to facilitate collaboration among states committed to this work, ensuring progress continues regardless of federal policy changes.
