The Global Fund for a New Economy is pleased to announce our new Co-President, Dr. Adriana Abdenur. Adriana joins Co-President Brian Kettenring in leading our organization as we lay the groundwork to empower organizations, individuals, policy-makers, academics, and organizers globally who are working to bring about a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Adriana most recently served as a Special Advisor to the President of Brazil, working with President Lula's core team on themes like the G20, the climate and biodiversity COPs, and reform of global governance. Before joining government she co-founded and served as? Executive Director of Plataforma CIPó, a Brazil-based think tank dedicated to international cooperation and sustainable development from Latin American and Global South perspectives. Adriana earned an AB in East Asian Studies from Harvard University and a PhD in sociology (focus: development and economic sociology) from Princeton University. Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Adriana brings the depth of her experience in government, public policy, and academia to help establish GFNE as a truly global organization. As we approach our first full year of operations, we continue to work towards our mission by refining our programs and growing our global reach.
