We are so thankful for Arbor Day Foundation and USDA for supporting our work in Denver's West Area. With their generous gift, DUG is able to take part in the West Area Plan to increase access to green spaces for Denverites in the West Area. Our plan is to build new community gardens and food forests to 1) invite the community to grow their own fresh + healthy food, 2) nurture community connections with neighbors, and 3) mitigate the negative effects of climate change in our city by improving canopy cover and combatting the heat island effect in Denver. A huge thank you to Kubota Tractor Corporation for their generous support of The Giving Grove program at GROW North Texas! Their contributions have been instrumental in expanding Grow North Texas's reach, including the purchase of a GMC Sierra 2000 pickup, which has enabled them to plant orchards at schools and community sites across the region. Since November 2023, this truck has helped GNTX plant 214 fruit trees and 90 blackberry brambles across 19 sites, with many more to come.
