I think deep down everyone has a tiny little inkling on what they want to bring into this world. Maybe you’re destined to teach, become a parent, or a master the art of gardening. Or maybe you have a calling to become an actor or start your own pastry shop. And ya know, maybe you don’t feel crazy pull towards anything specific and you’re totally cool with cruising and enjoying the little things in life (in fact, this sounds really beautiful, btw) We don’t all have to have a this wild, huge, grand plan but know that regardless, you hold an incredible amount of power. Choose to use your power for good. Choose to use your power to support people, businesses, and brands that do good …for the sake of our people + the planet ?? Our friends at Commons ran the numbers: ?? 83% of the material in Halloween costumes is plastic ?? 1 billion pumpkins will end up in landfills this year.? ??The U.S. alone disposes of 35 million costumes (that’s 700 dump trucks filled to the brim with plastic) Actions you can take to be more sustainable this Halloween: ?? Compost your pumpkins - WHY: Because pumpkins that go to the landfill can’t completely break down. So instead, they sit there and release methane gas which is a greenhouse gas that is 25x more potent than carbon dioxide at trapping heat in the atmosphere. ??Thrift your Halloween costume or wear what you wore last year! - WHY: We know the cheap plastic costumes can be tempting for the last-minute Halloween rush, but if you don’t buy them this year, the companies making them will make fewer next year!!
