The reason most messages for men ultimately fail is simple: they ignore what is deep and true to a man's heart and try to shape him up through various forms of pressure. Not this. This event is an honest, no-BS trek into the deep passions and desires of a man's heart, the healing of the wounds he's taken in this battle, the realm of fatherhood and sex and God and calling—life as it was meant to be lived. For over two decades, Wild At Heart retreats, featuring John and his team in-person, have taken place in remote locations around the world. Previously, only individuals who could afford and manage the travel had access to these impactful gatherings. Today, this transformative event is accessible to men everywhere by empowering local hosts in facilitating this life-changing journey for the men in their communities.

What comes to your mind in the quiet? In the stillness, when the world stops rushing by, what are the thoughts that fill your mind? For me, it’s the doubts—the moments I feel like I’m not enough, the weight of missed opportunities, the guilt over losing my temper again, and the fear that I don’t have what it takes. In that silence, we often find ourselves alone with our deepest struggles. But what if, instead of spiraling, we invited Jesus into that quiet space? The enemy wants us trapped in isolation, believing the lies. He wants us to hide our fears, shame, and insecurities. But Jesus sees every part of us—the good, the bad, the messy. And when we sit in the stillness and ask Him to speak, He will. He will remind us of who we really are. He knows your heart, and in those moments of doubt, He whispers the truth of your worth. You were made for more than just surviving. You were created with purpose, to be a leader, a father, a protector. In the quiet, Jesus reminds us that we are not alone, that He has a plan for us. Where have all the good men gone? Exodus 15:3: "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name" The men of old—those whose sweat built the world, who fought and died for others, who stopped evil before it started. The ones who raised a hammer to build a home for their family and who feared the Lord, walking with Him every day. What if we had men who were never truly initiated into manhood? What if they had lost touch with their identities? Perhaps they’ve been lingering in a state of slumber, awaiting someone to awaken them and guide them back to who the Lord called them to be. What if we initiated them into manhood again, telling them, “You have what it takes”? What if the good men shared their stories of struggle and loss with the younger generation? What if today’s men became the men we need right now? Isaiah 42:13: "The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies" ?? The world needs you. The world has endless opinions on what men should be. It can be overwhelming, trying to filter out all the negativity, expectations, and pressure. But when we come together and speak life into each other, we begin to see who the Lord has truly called us to be. He calls us to be strong, to fight for what is good, to love with our whole hearts, and to protect the innocent. When we fight this battle alone, we have no backup. But with a band of brothers, when one of us falls, we link shields and fight for him—just as Jesus fights for us. He is the fourth man in the fire, right there with us. ?? Shame can feel like a room full of stairs that lead nowhere. It’s like a constant battle in our minds, just like Sméagol and Gollum. Shame is always quick to remind us of our brokenness, our darkest moments. It whispers lies: “You’re nothing,” “If people knew what you do when you’re alone, they’d leave.” But here’s the truth: Jesus is right there with us. Sometimes, though, we’re so consumed by shame that we can’t even see His hand reaching out to us. The crazy part? When we finally grab hold of His hand and He pulls us up, we realize we’re not alone. There are thousands of other men trapped in that same room, struggling with the same shame, needing our help. What if we were open and honest about our struggles? What if, by sharing our story, we could help free others who feel trapped by shame? ?? Be brave enough to reach out. ?? Your greatest struggle might be the Lord’s greatest weapon. ?? We all face battles that break us down and bring shame into our lives. The enemy tries to use these moments to defeat us—but sometimes, the enemy shows his battle plans. When we walk through our struggles alone, we only see the darkness. But when we walk with Jesus, the light shines on every scheme, every tactic the enemy uses. Darkness cannot hide when the light is present—it gets exposed for what it is. ?? Imagine what would happen if we, as men, became the light for others. If we lit the beacons in the darkness, exposing the enemy’s plans by sharing our own weaknesses and struggles. What would happen to the darkness if we no longer fought alone, but together, in the light of Jesus?
