Thrilled to back David Nunez and the team at Falconer through The General Partnership. Dave and I first worked together at Stripe, and I’ve been lucky to stay close since—through Xtripe Angels, shared networks, and mutual support. At Stripe and Uber, he built the most revered knowledge systems in tech. Now, with Falconer, he’s building the programmable knowledge platform every company will want—so people can create, access, and share what matters. They’re hiring. And they’re the best in the world at this. https://lnkd.in/gxENgQqR

"I don't have too many strict principles, but I need to see a couple of things. One is that founders have to be world-class storytellers. This produces three key benefits: they can fundraise, sell, and recruit. If you can do those three things, you're steps ahead. The other thing is being ruthlessly commercial.” For VC Uncovered, Anthony Kline shares his investment philosophy rooted in talent and human potential—a lens shaped by his journey from recruiter, to building Stripe’s team during hypergrowth, to founding partner at TheGP. https://lnkd.in/g2NvT6eU

?? Big news from Graphite! Thrilled to share their $52M Series B and the launch of "Diamond"—an AI-powered code review agent. Diamond gives developers instant code reviews on every pull request they submit, fixing bugs, logical errors, and even infra misconfigurations. This allows devs to get an instant round of feedback before a human even has time to review any code. Proud to partner with Merrill Lutsky, Tomas Reimers, Greg Foster and the rest of the Graphite team. This is a huge step forward for developers ??

Can AI have taste….or just simulate it? Lilian Caylee W. explores how AI's evolution from tool to tool wielder may challenge our notions of taste, intuition, and even humanity. “When we begin, all we have is our taste—the ability to discern what is good and what isn’t. Then, we spend our time cultivating the skills we believe we will need to close this gap between what we can make and what our taste tells us is good. To get there, we study the fundamental principles of design, from visual hierarchy to color theory, and we hone the tools of our trade. With AI, this second step—the mastery of technical skills and knowledge—is more streamlined than ever.”

?? Ash has upgraded its look and product! In 2024, following the close of our Series A financing led by a national federal benefits company, we doubled down on our commitment to bridging care gaps and increasing access to care through at-home health testing. We secured major national health plan contracts and strategic leadership appointments to drive growth across the payor market. We researched, built, and iterated to expand our product to provide better value to our clients. It was time for our brand to reflect this evolution of the business. While Ash initially broke into the at-home health testing space through partnerships with digital health companies, rapidly expanding work with health plans necessitated a renewal of the brand. We upgraded our new brand identity so it better embodies our dedication to providing exceptional solutions that all clients, including payors, can rely on and trust. We also take this opportunity to drop “Wellness” from “Ash Wellness”, as it no longer reflects our solution, and go simply by “Ash”. Along with the brand refresh, we are excited to announce that we have appointed seasoned payor and digital health executives to its Board of Directors, who bring over 50 years of combined experience: ??Julie Smith, Chief Growth Officer of tango, previously President of Advantage Solutions at BCBS of Michigan, and President of Senior Business at Anthem Inc. ??Jamie Hall, President and Chief Executive Officer of CirrusMD, previously Chief Commercial Officer of Transcarent Over the past few months, Ash has built engagement, integration and reporting tools designed for payor customers to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing value for health plans and their members. We are excited to formalize and unveil these tools over the coming months to our current clients and beyond. The old playbook for scale: Raise big, hire big, scale big. The new playbook will leverage more from capital, move fast with AI, and stay lean. “We’re entering a deflationary era of software," writes Anthony Kline. ??

At The General Partnership we've believed the financial services industry has a scaling problem since Soups Ranjan started this journey and chose to partner with us at the pre-seed stage. Anthony Kline described it best when he noted that as transaction volumes grow exponentially, we should expect the Suspicious Activity Reports - SAR as in SARdine - to grow just as fast. Point solutions and manual reviews can't keep pace with real-time payments that demand millisecond decisions at scale. Sardine's latest $70M raise validates the fundamental shift in how we've thought about financial risk. Instead of layering more tools onto existing processes, Sardine is rebuilding the risk stack from first principles. Their AI agents aren't just automating existing workflows – they're creating an entirely new operating model for risk teams. The metrics tell the story. Sardine's customers have seen a 93% reduction in disputes, saved 15,000 hours of manual review time annually, and prevented 42% of wire fraud through network effects. But the numbers only hint at the deeper transformation: they're turning risk teams from cost centers into strategic advantages. What makes this particularly compelling is the timing. As financial services move faster and become more interconnected, trust becomes the critical constraint. Sardine isn't just selling better fraud prevention – they're rebuilding the trust infrastructure that will enable the next generation of financial innovation. Congrats to Soups Ranjan and the entire Sardine team. This is what category-defining looks like.
Today we're announcing Sardine's $70M Series C. In my past life leading risk at Coinbase and Revolut, I watched fraud evolve from amateur hour to industrial-scale operations. - Point solutions couldn't keep up. - Teams drowned in manual reviews. - And real-time payments meant we had milliseconds to spot threats. We built Sardine to solve this. We built from three first principles. 1. All risk problems are fundamentally data problems 2. The most valuable signals come from how users actually behave 3. Different risk types (fraud, compliance, credit) are deeply interconnected Not with another dashboard, but with intelligence that adapts as fast as the threats: - 2.2B+ devices profiled - 250M+ user behaviors analyzed - Network effects protecting 300+ enterprises Now our AI agents handle what used to take teams 30+ minutes in seconds. They catch what others miss. And they learn from every interaction. Today we're one of the few complete platforms for risk and what makes us different is - We have the richest data moat with 2.2bn new devices & user behavior - Our AI-first platform spots signals in that and 40+ data providers - Our network effect is growing with major enterprises like GoDaddy, Deel, FIS and X signed just this year - Our Sonar consortium is now proving value for tier 1 institutions And we're just getting started. To everyone fighting financial crime in the trenches - we see you. We built this for you. The tools we wish we had. The real work lies ahead. Join us: sardine.ai/careers

It's been a privilege to partner with Soups Ranjan and the entire Sardine crew since day one - from brainstorming the company's name to writing the initial lines of code to assembling a talented team. Huge congrats on this milestone ?????? https://lnkd.in/e4WGEWtK
