As background, I’ve long known that family dinner conversation is important for kids’ cognitive, social, and emotional development. Research from the Family Dinner Project at Harvard shows that engaging in meaningful conversations during family meals increases vocabulary in children, improves academic performance, strengthens family bonds, and builds resilience among adolescents. However, it’s challenging enough to get dinner on the table, let alone think of the optimal conversation topic each night. So, we aim for Cazzy to become the world’s most advanced language model for generating conversation starters tailored to each family’s interests and needs.
