The Garden: Navigating Early Childhood Education

A Garden is full of different plants, each having different needs to thrive. Some need water every day, some need only partial sun, some need larger pots of soil, and some need small spaces. Humans can be just as unique in our needs as plants. At The Garden: Navigating Early Childhood Education, we see each child as a beautiful plant with its own specific needs for success in life. In our idea of the early childhood garden, there are no weeds, just different types of beautiful plants that require specific things to grow. In this format, educators become gardeners nurturing seedlings to success, and administrators oversee each greenhouse's climate as each room has different needs. As educators, we must ensure that we meet each child's individual needs through best practices that outline the whole child. As administrators overseeing such a large greenhouse of gardeners, we must learn what quality care our teachers provide while supporting teachers' and students' growth. At The Garden: Navigating early childhood education, we believe in creating spaces for families, educators, and policymakers to share thoughts and ideas about what quality childcare centers are. Inspiring the next generation of Early Childhood Educators and helping admin and staff navigate this new norm. Assisting teachers in connecting with families and students. Assisting school Administration with connecting with staff and families. Assisting policymakers with hearing what educators and families want and need.
