With Northwestern Mutual's Passage Wealth Partners, she explored leadership development, particularly from an organizational and emotional intelligence perspective which she implemented. Lucky us...She now turns her focus to Bags of Fun in a development role, where she builds strong connections with the community, corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors. Her work supports the organization's mission of providing joy, laughter, and relief to children facing difficult medical conditions. Tara’s dedication to Bags of Fun’s mission as first a donor, volunteer, and Bags of Fun Board member now turned employee, has helped Bags of Fun expand and continue its impactful work. Gabby Krause was an amazing six-year old who died in September 2004 after a courageous 19-month battle with brain cancer. Gabby loved purple, swimming, and coke-flavored slurpees. She sang, danced and laughed her way through chemo-therapy. She found the silly in everything! It was Gabby’s wish that every child at the hospital could have their very own Bag of Fun. Our foundation began because of this special wish, and Bags of Fun was created in the spirit of Gabby’s original bag of toys and fun activities. Thanks to our sponsors, we've delivered more than 10,000 bags to kids facing illnesses! Bags of Fun go out to pediatric patients undergoing cancer treatment, kidney dialysis and heart, liver and kidney transplants. Our Mission is to deliver a Bag of Fun to every sick child whose health and happiness is both compromised and threatened. Our Vision is to bring joy, laughter and relief to every child fighting a life threatening disease or condition. The Gabby Krause Foundation was started to fulfill Gabby’s wish that every child have a Bag of Fun, and the foundation’s goal is to expand Bags of Fun to other cities.

At Bags of Fun, we are incredibly proud of our thoughtful team members who help us run our program every day. Introducing our new Finance Director, Jackie Stolze! Jackie was delighted to switch from an active donor/volunteer for Bags of Fun to an employee in late 2024. The mission to bring joy, laughter and relief to children through the power of play connected with her immediately. She uses her previous corporate business and finance skills to support the Foundation behind the scenes, managing all financial aspects of the operations. She also brings a passion for community service and enjoys engagement with donors and volunteers, especially when the discussion turns to one of growth and expansion. WELCOME JACKIE! What started as a mother’s wish for temporary relief for her daughter fighting brain cancer became a movement to reclaim the innocence of childhood. Life-threatening conditions should not hinder a child’s time of youth, playfulness, and curiosity. Fulfilling that wish to bring a bag of fun to each child in the hospital, Tammy Krause continues her daughter’s legacy by bringing joy to each child that receives a bag. The mental health crisis amongst tweens and teens has continued to increase over the years, creating a stigma around psychiatric care. Our October Charity of the Month, Bags of Fun - Gabby Krause Foundation, has taken the action to fight this stigma through their Mental Health Bags of Fun program. In 2019, they kickstarted this program so they could reach a different youth population yet still leave an impact.
