We’re happy to have brought 4G connectivity via small cells to PATRIZIA SE’s recently opened international hub in London’s Covent Garden. More than 200 of Patrizia’s UK-based team will be at the location, making it the group’s largest global office outside of its Germany-based headquarters. The workplace brings real estate and investment solutions and Patrizia’s technology arm under one roof. The Endell Street site has a long history stretching back to 1749 when the British Lying-In Hospital was established. Since then, it’s also seen another hospital come and go, as well as a private members club, before its latest incarnation as Patrizia’s international hub. Things don’t stand still in London! It brings together industry leaders, legal experts, and government representatives?to explore the planning and development of mobile infrastructure in the UK. Our Head of Partnerships, Neil Barnes, spoke with Kurrant about how more and more local authorities across the UK are signing open access agreements with neutral hosts to allow for the deployment of small cells on public street furniture to boost mobile connectivity. Today is #NationalEngineeringDay, an initiative spearheaded by the Royal Academy of Engineering since 2019 which aims to make engineering and the UK’s engineers more visible. We need more people from all sections of society to consider engineering as a profession and that’s why this year’s theme is #EngineeringRoleModels. This year, The Royal Academy of Engineering, in collaboration with visual artist Kelly Anna, unveiled a first: a modern statue of a living engineer to inspire a new generation into the profession. Research from Virgin Media O2 has found that 68% of Brits are keen to recycle their old tech for cash, with a large number ready to sell unused consoles or smartphones. And people could make up to ￡450 by recycling unwanted devices like phones, laptops and tablets, all just in time to help cover the cost of gifts, decorations, and festive days out. #recycling #sustainability
