A leader in bilingual education, The French American Academy offers students a private education in both French and English in New Jersey (USA). The positive, nurturing, and creative learning environment blends traditional and progressive approaches with newer teaching techniques in order to promote greater cognitive and social growth, multi-cultural understanding, individual confidence and self-expression. An early and continuing bilingual education has been proven to strengthen a child’s fundamental ability to listen, reason, focus, multi-task, and communicate better. It also helps children perform better in non-language courses, like Math and Science. Finally, it promotes cultural fluency which helps children adapt more easily in today's global community. The French American Academy serves students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The Academy also hosts after-school activities in French, enrichment classes, summer programs for children, and language classes for adults. The French American Academy has three campus locations: Englewood, Hoboken, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

In addition to the visit from the French Consul General, we were honored to welcome Kevin J Ruth, Executive Director of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS). As a proud NJIS member, we shared our vision for our new International Baccalaureate candidate high school, a milestone for Jersey City. We’re thankful for Mr. Ruth’s visit and NJIS’s continued support of independent schools across New Jersey.
We were honored to welcome Cédrik Fouriscot, the newly appointed Consul General of France in New York, to our new campus in Jersey City Heights, where our new High School will be located. The Consul General also visited our Downtown Jersey City campus, where he had the opportunity to converse with our middle school students, sharing valuable insights into the role of a diplomat and thoughtfully addressing their questions about international relations. We are excited about the vision for our new high school, which will offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, making it the only IB candidate high school in Jersey City. We look forward to its future as a powerful space to inspire and shape the next generation of globally-minded leaders.

Our student-athletes proudly wear their new uniforms and give their all in every game, demonstrating incredible dedication and team spirit as they compete in the Hudson County Sports League (HCSL). We’re grateful to oXya - USA for making this season possible, helping us provide our students with enriching experiences that emphasize teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Our student-athletes are not only growing in their skills but also learning valuable life lessons that will guide them far beyond the court. On Monday and Tuesday, our teachers participated in Professional Development Days. We were pleased to welcome Olivier de Lavalette?back?for a Mindfulness Workshop, where our teachers gained insights into mindfulness practices. They can now bring these practices into the classroom to support student well-being. Additionally, other sessions focused on pedagogy were held, providing teachers with tools and strategies to enhance the learning experience for our students! Our teachers also discovered the new High School location.

Last week, students from Pre-K2 to middle school at our Englewood and Jersey City campuses participated in our annual Spirit Run, showing incredible determination to raise funds for two inspiring organizations: GEORGIE BADIEL FOUNDATION INC and PRINCETON HAITI KONEKTE INC. Our youngest students ran for 24 minutes nonstop, while older students completed as many laps as possible to support efforts to build wells in Burkina Faso for clean water and provide projectors to schools in Haiti, improving education for over 1,000 children. The Spirit Run promotes physical activity and teamwork and teaches our students the power of giving back and being global citizens. Last year, we raised $20,000—this year, we're aiming even higher!
