One thing I've never understood in business is.... BRAND It's not a logo. It's not a tag line. It's not even a product/service. Brand in intangible. It's emotion-driven. It's what people feel when they think about you or your business. And that's where it gets tricky. How do you build something you can't see, touch, or measure in a spreadsheet? Some say it's about consistency, storytelling, customer experience, etc. Maybe it's all of the above and a little bit more. I recently had a conversation with Philip Joubert about how he has been able to establish OfferZen brand over the last decade and his answer definitely surprised me. Check out this clip. What does brand mean to you??

If you’re an employee in South Africa this episode is for you. Thanks for being on the channel!!
First Time Founder & CEO | Helping companies hire top talent from SOUTH AFRICA, while saving $40k+ per employee.
??? New Episode ??? When I started Talently, I submerged myself in the talent industry. Researching the industry, strategies and who the top players were. One of the players that stood out to me was OfferZen. As they took a unique approach to specialization from a talent and Country perspective. Over the past 10+ years, Philip Joubert has built a monster in the South African engineer talent space. At first, I viewed them as competitors, but we have grown to become friends and even partner on deals together. We had a great conversation covering, - Why it's the best time in history to be a Founder - How to build a memorable brand (hint: T-Shirts) - How to leverage AI to improve your efficiency I hope you enjoy it! I love asking other Founders how they are using AI to improve their business and personal life. Cato Pastoll had a great 2 part answer to this question on the most recent episode of The Founder University

Talently just hit a huge milestone. At least it is a HUGE milestone for me. On social media, you always see, - recent funding rounds - acquisitions - PR puff pieces Those are all nice. But as a bootstrapped solo-founder, none of those are relevant to me. There is one thing that I do weight above the rest. The way our clients and candidates are treated. We put 100% of our effort into every client and candidate we come in contact with. It doesn't matter if you are a small business or Fortune 500, we are going to provide you with a 5-star experience. Clearly, that is paying off for us. We just received our 40th 5-star review!! Thank you to all our amazing clients and candidates who make our job easy!! #business #founder #entrepreneur

"What lesson do you wish you had in University?" That is the question I asked myself when preparing to lecture last week at Ted Rogers School of Management - Toronto Metropolitan University I was NOT a good student. I didn't see value in the lessons I was learning. How am I going to use calculus in my career? Why do I need to learn about physical geography? Studying macro supply and demand is not going to help me land a job. I only had one thing on my mind in my 4th year. "How am I going to use this degree to get a job??" Then it hit me what I should teach. I called the lecture, "Guaranteed to Get a Job Playbook" A step-by-step guide of how to approach your job search like a salesperson. Covering, - Prospecting - finding jobs and companies - Outreach - application process to stand out from the pack - Demo - how to ace an interview The students loved it! We went overtime with questions, ideas and brainstorming. I now want to share that same playbook with you! The job market is tough, and if this lesson can help 1 person get a job, that's a win! Connect with me and comment "playbook" I will send it to you directly. Thank you, Patti Pokorchak, MBA for having me. You are giving the next generation of entrepreneurs and salespeople an amazing foundation.

??? New Episode ??? When I started Talently I was SHOCKED at how brutal the Canadian banking system was. Simple conveniences that business owners should have were not available. - Online wire transfers - Deposit notifications - Transparent FX fees - and more I just assumed this is how it goes because that's what the big banks were offering. But then I realized there was a better way. One of those ways is Loop Financial. Cato Pastoll and their team have built the best business banking platform for Canadian businesses. They are tackling a massive old-school industry that needs to change. We had a great conversation covering GTM strategy, trying to solve big problems and much more. I hope you enjoy!! I just had THE WORST SaaS demo of my life!! You can learn from it WHAT NOT TO DO... - jump right into questions without attempting to build rapport - constantly look away from the camera - chug energy drinks on camera - ask scattered questions - provide vague answers and information - refuse to show the product you are looking to buy - seem genuinely uninterested Now I understand some people might be having an "off" day but we have to do better as salespeople. The best salespeople put the same amount of effort into every sales call. It doesn't matter if you are an SMB or Enterprise buyer. It doesn't matter if you are feeling sick. It doesn't matter if you have other things on your mind. We have to show up every day with the energy, care, and desire to represent the company the proper way. Don't disrespect your buyers. Don't gatekeep your product. Don't make it hard for your buyers to give you money. Happy selling out there! #sales #founder
