Yesterday,?exalt?hosted a panel on the Future of Juvenile Justice in the Next Administration as part of the SOMOS El Futuro 2024 conference.?I was thrilled to lend my over 25 years of expertise in the juvenile and criminal justice field to this conversation – one that is more important now than ever. ? Thank you to my fellow panelists, Michael Blake, founder and CEO of Atlas Strategy Group and former NYS Assemblymember and Obama alum, and our moderator, Rob DeLeon, Deputy CEO of The Fortune Society.??exalt’s very own, Alex Griffith, introduced the panel. ? It was a full house.?Not only did our engaged audience have great questions, but many shared their personal experiences in the juvenile justice system and how recent reforms could have impacted their lives.?Thank you to NYC Council Members Dr. Yusef Salaam and Carmen De La Rosa for your powerful words of encouragement and commitment to ensuring that NYC’s juvenile justice policy is informed by adolescent brain development and investment in our young people.?? ? Criminal Justice reform has agreement on both sides of the aisle because of the COST: both human and financial.?Our young people are our future – we must invest in the leaders of tomorrow,?today.
