Today, the industry leaders from the Foiling Week Forum had the exclusive opportunity to tour the American Magic base in Pensacola. A highlight of the visit was the presentation of the Persico Cat 72’, an innovative foiling catamaran designed by multihull Morrelli and Melvin, commissioned by American Magic. This groundbreaking catamaran, created to compete in the Transpac Race—an iconic offshore route from Los Angeles to Hawaii—combines cutting-edge performance technology with cruising excellence. The Persico Cat 72’ recently reached a major milestone. After an intricate final construction phase at the PERSICO GROUP Shipyard in La Spezia—renowned for its expertise in high-performance cruising yachts—the vessel is now fully equipped with interiors crafted by Design Unlimited. With the hull painted and completed, the yacht is ready to enter its next chapter: sea trials and performance testing. The American Magic team, known for their involvement in the 37th America’s Cup, has recently joined the project. They will oversee the upcoming sea trials and performance optimization. The yacht will soon be transported to American Magic’s base in Pensacola, where the team will push its capabilities to the limit, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance.
