This is a concept we discuss and teach in the level two part of the certification series and beyond. While there are different theories in this realm. It is important to see how the visual processing of abstract symbols does not MERELY impact reading. Visual processing in more concrete areas of processing like self and surroundings must also be considered with every person we work with. Remember, we are not treating symptoms. We are the game of asking and answering the two big questions. 1) Are there indicators of inefficiencies in the autonomic nervous system? 2) What are the primary tools this person uses to process their world, and what does that tell us about their developmental trajectory (at any age), and how can we help them be more efficient?
