Through urban farming, and STEM programs, we encourage young people to embrace the virtues of community service.
关于我们
Aster Bekele, former chemist at Eli Lily, began The Felege Hiywot Center in 2004 after decades of educating and impacting youth in her community here in America and in her home country of Ethiopia. We teach leadership skills through urban farming, environmental preservation, STEM programming and more to encourage today's youth to embrace the virtues of community service.

Making sure our friends and family see their photos from the gala over the next few days. Tag familiar faces so they see their photos! Or email our Comms Director at [email protected] if you are looking for a particular photo from that night to speed up the process!

Did you recently upgrade your camera game and have an older one sitting around? This semester, the students at FHC have shown an interest in photography. If you have a newer (we were thinking last 7 years?) model digital camera that you are willing to part with, please contact us here or at [email protected]. This would be considered an in-kind donation to the Center. Thank you ??

In addition to the workshops at the Center, we are excited to have an official dedication of the Mural at Unity Park. The mural is of Ms. Jimmie Luton done by Rafael Caro & Erica Parker at Chromatic Collective. Ms. Jimmie’s spirit will forever live on in the Martindale-Brightwood Community. It will take place at 11 AM. See you then!
