Three states had #PaidSickLeave ballot measures in front of voters this month — and all three passed. That’s what we can do through direct democracy.

Advising health care organizations dedicated to better outcomes and more affordable, equitable systems for financing and providing care
It was a hard election day for some of us, but one bright spot is the work of the Fairness Project. In states that allow ballot initiatives, referendums, and citizen-initiated constitutional amendments, the FP supports local campaigns to win on issues that matter to working people, including raising the minimum wage and expanding #Medicaid. For over 10 years, the FP has been giving voters the power to enact popular policies when their elected representatives won't. Since the Dobbs decision, the FP has partnered with reproductive health advocates to preserve repro freedom in states where legislators have tried to take it away. Voters in AZ, MT, MO, AK and NE all won at least one of the progressive policies that were on the ballot. It's a reminder that in a place like MO voters can re-elect Josh Hawley and raise the minimum wage and protect reproductive freedom on the same day. Congrats to Kelly Hall and her amazing team Fairness Project https://lnkd.in/ekWVJUYP

“The simple matter is that $492 a week isn’t enough to live in any county in the state of Missouri.” That’s why Missourians for Healthy Families & Fair Wages fought for and secured a ballot measure to not only raise the minimum wage but also implement #PaidSickDays. Now it’s up to voters to cast a ballot for workers rights. https://lnkd.in/eVUqAeJ9
