The Evoluer House, a White House recognized award-winning nonprofit organization, delivers evidence-based empowerment programs that help girls to envision a future devoid of disadvantages and filled with possibilities. We are on a mission to help produce strong female leadership in the workforce and in society, by investing in young women and girls and their collective well-being and power. The target population is girls of color in Philadelphia aged 13 to 18, who are experiencing a unique set of social and emotional challenges and barriers to success. Our curriculums are designed to promote emotional, mental, and social well-being, to equip girls with the tools they need to become college-bound and career-ready, and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.

Give a warm welcome to our new executive assistant: Thyo Pierre-Louis! Thyo is an ambitious #nonprofit pro, first as an environmental campaigner with Clean Water Action and then as the canvassing Team Lead for the Planned Parenthood Philadelphia campaign. Thyo holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania and is a full-ride Mayor’s scholar. As a Black non-binary person who was raised as a girl and lived through the challenges that girls of color face, he is especially passionate about The Evoluer House’s mission to empower girls and femmes of color. .

Today, it's the The Evoluer House whose mission is to deliver empowerment programs that help girls to envision a future devoid of disadvantages and filled with possibilities. Their target population is 13-18-year-old girls of color in Philadelphia aged 13 to 18 who are experiencing a unique set of social and emotional challenges and barriers to success. Founder/Executive Director Cheryl Ann Wadlington is a powerhouse who has brought national renown to the local nonprofit: In 2015, Evoluer House was lauded for 11 years of service by the Obama White House. In 2016, Evoluer House Founder and Executive Director Cheryl Wadlington, was one of 10 women in the nation selected as a White House “Champion of Change” for her work and leadership in developing high-quality programs for marginalized girls of color.
