We love when business meetings take us to new (to us) spots. Even better when there’s good coffee involved. Add in thought provoking questions, like this one on the wall, and it’s the “perfect magical” trifecta. So, “What Stirs You”? ??: Mokah Coffee & Tea, in Deep Ellum ??: The Event Nerd

Excited to see our Chief Imaginator, J. Damany Daniel get a shout out for his work in the Dallas Arts scene. To say arts are a passion for us would be a liiiitle understatement. It's in everything we create, and we love that we get to share that passion with you. And can we talk about that suit...
Experiential Technology Visionary | Breaker of the Fourth Wall | Arts Commissioner | Craver of Dope Conversation | Nerd
My father met my mother, Leslie Daniel, when he sat down in her office at the bank to ask her for money for his "art thing." To hear her tell it, she knew she wasn't gonna give him the money, but thought he was cute, so they went for a drink. That one drink would lead to a family that loved the arts and surrounded themselves with the artists who make life more beautiful daily. That one drink taught us that it was possible to pursue your dreams even when they made no sense and to ensure that you were surrounded by people as committed to vision as you were. That one drink led to 3 lives that will hopefully have an impact on many more people over many more drinks with many more passionate pursuits that might lead nowhere... but also might take you everywhere and give you everything. I've come to terms with the fact that to know me is to, on some level, know my father. I've come to know that the Rev. James H. Daniel Jr. peeks through the veil every now and then and I find myself saying, doing, or being just like him in small (and some not-so-small) ways. So...today this article in the month of his birth hit different. To stand shoulder to shoulder with some of Dallas' arts luminaries and to be listed as an "influential arts leader" means more than the cheesing smile in this picture belies. It means that my father heard God when he sat down in that chair. It means that my mother's sacrifices to make sure we got to all parts of NYC at all hours of the day for all manner of "things" was more than worth it. It means a lot. Shout out to Jerod "DTOX" Davies, Artist and Muralist for taking the first "good suit" I was able to afford when I became a DJ 15 years ago and turning it into something dope (and it still fits), to Heather Daniel, Dustin Clark, and Jack Son for the fit, and to Visit Dallas and Modern Luxury Dallas Magazine for the invitation. Stay Dope, friends.
