The most dangerous conversation about race is the one we don’t have.
关于我们
The Equity Lab seeks to disrupt racial and ethnic inequity by engaging organizations in issues of race, equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI). We help individuals to develop a deep understanding of their own identity and the historical and cultural contexts in which we all operate, and we empower them to become agents of progress in their personal and professional spheres. We serve as an objective third party to our clients, providing honest guidance, ongoing partnership, and a safe, compassionate space to do what we know is serious, difficult, and deeply necessary work.

Tired. Angry. Disillusioned. That’s where so many of us are right now. The fight for justice, equity and liberation feels heavier than ever—but that doesn’t mean we stop. At The Equity Lab, we know how tempting it is to step back, to wonder if it’s worth it. But history shows us what happens when movements pause—oppressive systems tighten their grip. Now is the time to reimagine the fight for equity. Let’s do it together: https://hubs.la/Q02Y_QYp0

No matter who wins tomorrow or how the results unfold, one thing is clear: The fight for issues of race, equity, diversity, and inclusion doesn’t stop. In a highly polarized environment, REDI leaders stay ready. Here’s how: https://lnkd.in/e4tBwj6R

In this election the stakes are high and the future of democracy is on the line. But things feel a little different this time around. There’s a powerful grassroots movement taking place that’s influencing the 2024 Election—one led by a strategy we’ve been using at The Equity Lab for years to help catalyze multi-racial coalition–affinity groups. By harnessing the power of collective identity, they aren’t just mobilizing—affinity groups are redefining modern civic engagement, and have become the unsung MVP of the election. We're so proud of our very own #Nexus Cohort III Alum Van L. Davis!! Congratulations!!
We are thrilled to announce that after a national search, our own Dr. Van L. Davis has been selected to lead WCET as Executive Director. He will hold a dual role as Vice President, Digital Learning, at the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Van is a renowned national leader in #artificialintelligence research and #policydevelopment and brings more than 25 years of experience in #highereducation working to shape the future of #digitallearning. His first day will be January 1, 2025, after Russell Poulin retires from the position at the end of this year. We are grateful to Russ for his service and leadership over the past 30 years and wish him the best in his retirement. We welcome Van's leadership and vision as we continue advancing WCET's mission of advocating for effective policy and practice in digital learning in #postsecondary education. In his new role, Van will oversee all strategic and operational responsibilities of WCET’s membership, the State Authorization Network (SAN), and Every Learner Everywhere . Please join us in congratulating Van on this next step of his career!

At The Equity Lab, you’ll hear us talk about Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI), rather than DEI. Leading with race isn’t just a framework—it’s a movement toward lasting, systemic change. By centering race in our work, we unlock deeper possibilities for equity, justice, and collective liberation. More on our approach →https://lnkd.in/g2tnfSdU

We're grateful for the opportunity our Executive Director, Michelle Molitor, had to partner on this board retreat at the The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in NYC. We can't wait to witness all of the transformation ahead!
Global leader with expertise in people development, organizational transformation, change management, & diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
This weekend I had the humbling opportunity to partner with my colleague Michelle Molitor from The Equity Lab to co-facilitate the Annual Board of Directors retreat for The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. It was the first retreat for Center CEO Dr. Carla Smith, Ed.D. and to say her leadership will be transformative for the trajectory of the organization is putting it lightly! Working with these dynamic and committed leaders who are steadfast in their focus to make the world a better place was simply an honor. In many ways this was a love letter to my younger self who in my wildest dreams would have never imagined a moment like this could happen. I am so energized by the conversations and passion to drive the mission of The Center forward and look forward to seeing the amazing work these leaders will accomplish.
