The first employment report of 2025 brings forth some interesting data on the state of the U.S. job market. Employers added 143,000 jobs in January, with healthcare, retail, and social services seeing the most additions overall. Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate edged down to 4.0%, improving from 2024’s average of 4.1%. January 2025’s complete report can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/g5DQFK76 While job gains fell slightly below expectations, the combination of steady hiring and a declining unemployment rate signals an economy that remains resilient as we head into the new year.
