The Embedded Learning Challenge转发了
Smart homes, embedded systems, and IoT—these are shaping the future of technology. But did you know IoT dates back to the 1980s? I was just as surprised when I found out! I learned this at an Arm developer program called Smart Tech in Your Hands: An Intro to IoT with Arm MCUs. The concept of connecting devices to the internet dates back to the?early 1980s?with a Coca-Cola vending machine connected to the internet, allowing users to check if it had cold drinks. IoT is basically when everyday appliances are connected to the Internet so that they can collect and share data, making them 'smart'. I got to experience hands on how IoT works last Saturday using the MXChip IoT Devkit, powered by the STM32F412 Arm Cortex-M4F processor architecture. The event held at KNUST with the Arm E3(NGAGE) club was led by Samuel Adranyi who did a wonderful job breaking down IoT concepts and guided us through how the MXChip worked using VScode on our laptops. Sylvian Kimkpe assisted with the hands on experience. Believe me when I say it was an awesome experience. We also had the pleasure of learning from Dominica Abena Oforiwaa Amanfo, who introduced us to "ARM’s Introduction to TinyML with PyTorch & ExecuTorch learning path." She shared insightful experiences on women in engineering, using her own journey as an example of how women are making strides in software and electronics. I couldn't help but feel inspired as I listened to her. Special thanks to the #ArmDeveloperProgram. #armengageclub #ARMy Have you attended a similar program before? I would like to hear you experience and what stood out to you the most!
