We are proud to spotlight, Janet Aguilar, one of the 2024 Women of Impact. Aguilar, who died in February 2024, started at the bottom and worked her way up to vice president of sales at what is now USI Southwest, spending 50 years in that industry. “She dedicated a lot of time to mentoring,” daughter Vanessa Aguilar said. “She helped many people start and grow their careers in the insurance industry.” In addition to her professional accomplishments, Aguilar served on numerous boards, including the?El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce?and the?United Way Of El Paso County. The University of Texas at El Paso is set to reintroduce its mining engineering degree in 2027, aiming to be the largest program of its type in the U.S. The UT System Board of Regents will contribute $20 million.
