The EA is hosting our annual conference, The Summit! The Summit is a one-day conference where educators can take time to celebrate the excellent work they are doing and envision how their practice and the field of education can be even better. This year, the theme of The Summit is Restore: imagining a better tomorrow today. We are excited to gather with educators across the metro to proactively cultivate a better tomorrow, together. What does this look like in practice? Empower your students by letting them help with: - Passing out papers: Assign a student to be the class helper and distribute materials. - Classroom setup: Let students arrange desks, chairs, and supplies. - Leading discussions: Encourage students to guide group discussions or present topics. - Cleaning up: Have students take responsibility for tidying up the classroom. - Problem-solving: Allow students to figure out solutions together before stepping in. Don’t do anything a kid can do. Hispanic Heritage Month honors the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The Heritage Month is specifically from the 15th to the 15th to coincide with the independence days of several Latin American countries. In the classroom, this is a perfect time to highlight the diverse voices and stories that have shaped our world. Whether through literature, art, music, or history, educators can inspire students to appreciate and respect the vibrant heritage of Hispanic cultures. Harvesters provide essential access to food for families and children across our community.
