Today, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the Native people in our communities and in our history. In California, as in the rest of the country, Native students are bursting with brilliance and big dreams—but our schools, colleges, and universities are, by and large, failing them. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is about recognition, but it should come with action.
