Transforming public education through organic school gardens, kitchens, and cafeterias.
关于我们
The Edible Schoolyard Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the transformation of public education by using organic school gardens, kitchens, and cafeterias to teach both academic subjects and the values of nourishment, stewardship, and community. Edible education provides hands-on experiences that connect students to food, nature, and each other; and it systematically addresses the crises of climate change, public health, and social inequality. At its heart is a dynamic and joyful learning experience for every child.

We’re thrilled to announce that our founder, Alice Waters, has been honored with the 2024 Julia Child Award! Created by The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, the Julia Child Award is given to visionaries who have made a profound and significant difference in the way America cooks, eats and drinks. The Foundation hopes to encourage people to cook for themselves, to better understand where food comes from, to value eating and drinking and the importance that both can play in improving the quality of life. #edibleschoolyard #EdibleEducation #alicewaters #juliachild #juliachildfoundation #juliachildaward?
