Hampton Farmhouse Restoration – Durable Restoration, Savage, MD The historic farmhouse at Hampton Mansion, dating back to the 1700s, received a meticulous restoration by The Durable Slate Company (DBA Durable Restoration). This project focused on preserving the farmhouse’s historic integrity using traditional materials and methods. Key restoration efforts included an in-kind replacement of the cedar shake roof, repairs to the upper-floor windows, trim, and dormers, as well as the restoration of the upper belltower. These essential repairs will safeguard the structure from water damage while ensuring its longevity and authenticity for future generations. We are thrilled to announce that The Durable Restoration Company has won the prestigious National Roofing Contractors Association Gold Circle Award (steep Slope Excellence) for our restoration of the copper dome on the Logan County Courthouse in Lincoln, Illinois. This award, presented at the International Roofing Expo in San Antonio, recognizes excellence in the roofing industry. Constructed in 1905-1906, the Logan County Courthouse stands as a historic landmark. Durable's team undertook the task of replacing the original intricate metal covering of the iconic dome, which had reached the end of its functional lifespan. Through careful craftsmanship, we ensured that this architectural gem will continue to be cherished by future generations. This award underscores our unwavering commitment to preserving and restoring historic structures with the utmost care and expertise. A special congratulations to the incredible crew that worked so hard on this project to make it the award-winner that it is!? Tommy Eban, Paul Osterloh, Helmer Pulido, Jimmy St Cin, and Wolfgang Barth were the core crew that removed and installed the upper portion of the dome during Phase 1. Sam Wilburn, Parker Wingerter, and Mark Van Hoy joined Tommy, Wolf, and Helmer to assist with the lower cornice, standing seam, and woodwork of Phase 2 after the upper scaffold was removed. This is a clip from the Multi Award Winning Steeple Square's iconic 211-foot steeple has been expertly restored, thanks to the craftsmanship of Durable Restoration. Over 100 feet of new copper was added, bringing this towering structure back to its former glory. The restoration was part of a broader construction project earlier this year, with Gronen Restoration managing the construction process. Henry Riddle began developing Downtown Ravenna in 1850 with his "Riddle Blocks"—a total of 11 city blocks. His most notable landmark, Riddle Block #1, was constructed in 1889. We are honored to contribute to its restoration, bringing it back to its original 1889 grandeur. As part of the project, we replaced the slate roof with 16" x 9" Grayson slate from Virginia. All flashings were restored with matching materials—painted galvanized steel—except for high-water areas, which were upgraded to copper as specified by the architect. #ravenna #ohio #restoration #preservation

Another great project we are proud of. The Durable team is absolutely killing it! We're installing nearly 300 squares of Random/Graduated Vermont Semi-Weathering Gray-Green slate, complete with all new copper flashings, at The Country Club in Pepper Pike, OH.
