At DCG, we know that clear, intentional communication requires dedicated focus — whether we’re crafting impactful campaigns, supporting our clients' missions, or tackling complex projects. Multitasking might feel productive, but sources such as Verywell, Life Management Science Labs, Forbes, and others have identified single-tasking (fully focusing on one task at a time) as the best approach for higher efficiency, better creativity, and fewer mistakes. Why choose single-tasking over multitasking? Studies show it can: ?? Improve focus and productivity ?? Reduce stress and mental fatigue ?? Enhance the quality of work Want to give it a try? Here are a few ways to incorporate single-tasking into your day: ?? Set a timer and focus on one task at a time ?? Minimize distractions — close extra tabs and silence notifications ?? Take short breaks between tasks to reset your mind How do you stay focused throughout the day? Drop your best tips in the comments! ?? #SingleTaskingDay #Productivity #Focus

#EmployeeSpotlight — Meet DCGer Patrick McCarthy, our incredible Chief Delivery Officer who provides oversight of DCG’s project delivery on our 50+ task orders! ?? ?? Why Patrick chose DCG: " I was seeking a company culture that encouraged mentorship and coaching and was eager to be more innovative on how it serves clients. DCG has not just proven to be that, but in many ways exceeded it. Yes, there is a large amount of change happening at DCG but the team has consistently been receptive to new ideas, ambitious to hear alternative ways of thinking, and collaborative in how to think about serving our clients in a different way. The daily collaboration with DCGers is by far my favorite thing about this role.” ?? Favorite part of the job? "Without question, it’s interacting with so many DCGers on a daily basis. We are a team of motivated, curious, and mission-driven individuals, and I’m motivated to push myself in order to best serve this outstanding team.” ?? Advice shared: 1?? " The first comes from my background in athletics and states, essentially, that if your coach (or supervisor in DCG's case) is constructively giving feedback on how to improve your performance, embrace it, learn from it, and act on it. The feedback is being given because they believe in your ability and want you to be the best you can be.” 2?? “Second is a quote that I frame as ‘It's not that I don't know, I simply haven't learned yet.’ Embrace the unknown, raise your hand and ask questions, and be a life-long learner.” Patrick’s dedication to innovation, collaboration, and growth inspires us all.
