TDC is Growing! Help us Welcome Lia Brown, our new Program Manager. Lia Brown is a dedicated community organizer and service leader originally from New York City who has called Des Moines home for the past two decades. She holds a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Simpson College. Her past professional experience includes working as a project coordinator at the Greater Des Moines Partnership and as a community relations officer at the Polk County Treasurer's Office. Lia is passionate about civic engagement, arts and culture, public health, and inclusive design, with a strong advocacy background, having served as the former NAACP Des Moines Branch Political Outreach Committee Co-Chair and Health Committee Co-Chair. Currently, she is the Outreach Co-Chair for the GirlsRocks!Des Moines Board. In addition to her professional roles, Lia enjoys outdoor activities, solving mysteries, cooking, and fostering unexpected collaborations. Lia is looking forward to working with young leaders to re-imagine our collective futures. Lia is excited to shape asset-building programs in central Iowa through the work of TDC.
