Is using GenAI for coursework "cheating"? What about grammarly? Or the Editor in Word? Or spellchecker or grammar checker? What does it mean to be a students "own" work? We need to consider more carefully how we assess in a world of AI.

In a world of rapidly evolving digital technologies, what does it actually mean to be connected?
关于我们
Our purpose is to address digital divides by creating a peer support model that shows how sharing best practice, having access to the right tools and utilising expertise can improve outcomes for all. We are a group of digital experts from across the UK working in the international education environment. We have connected to draw together the elements needed to develop a robust digital strategy including sustainability, accessibility, cybersecurity, esports, digital character and the effective use of mobile devices for teaching and learning. Our virtual toolkit, including case studies and lessons learned from our own experience, will be suitable for those just starting out on their digital journey through to organisations who need to be future-ready with emerging technologies.

?? ???????? ???? ???????????? ???????????????? – ?????????????? ?????? ????????! Back in 2023, I shared an AI policy template to help schools navigate AI safely and effectively. With new guidance from the DfE, Ofsted, and JCQ, it’s time for a refresh. ?? Download it here → https://lnkd.in/efYuVbsZ I would love to hear how your school is approaching AI policy, drop me a note in the comments. Feedback on the policy would be great too. #AI #EdTech #AIPolicy #Safeguarding #Leadership #Education #AiInEdu #AiInEducation

Feeling very fortunate to have started the half term break in Romania at #AIDUCATION25. I'm a huge fan of Matthew Wemyss and the opportunity to visit the Cambridge School of Bucharest to see some of his AI work in practice was far too good to miss. What also appealed about this conference was the fact that it interspersed inspiring keynote speakers with highly practical hands-on workshops hosted in the school's various classrooms. An added bonus was the chance to catch up with so many educators doing incredible and impactful things with AI in schools, including Trudi Barrow Kavitha Ravindran Matt Jessop and Peter Rafferty. Matthew opened the day drawing tongue in cheek comparisons with the EU AI Act and Jeff Goldblum's famous quote from Jurassic Park, before handing over to the godfather of AI himself Dan Fitzpatrick. Listening to Dan always gives you an opportunity to hear from the absolute cutting edge and it was lovely to also manage to fit in a quick 1:1 discussion about robot-readiness before lunch! ?? My first workshop of the day was with David Curran who let us be students in Matthew's own classroom and experiment with Mindjoy. I am fascinated by AI's potential to support truly personalised learning, but that has to happen in a properly safeguarded environment, so this was an extremely interesting one. Ben Whitaker is another person I could listen to for hours, mainly because he talks so engagingly about mindset, the importance of curiosity and the need to embrace change even if we don't feel ready for it. His excellent keynote before lunch took us into the afternoon workshops, where I spent an hour working in a team trying to use AI to prototype and build a device to support an elderly person with early onset dementia. This was a truly extraordinary session with Ben Edmonds and my fellow Canva #Canvassador Aaron Patching from Inventor Club. It really shifted my thinking around AI, creativity and real-world problem solving with students and I can see lots of interesting follow up conversations with Apps for Good! My last workshop of the day was a joyful hour with Patrick McGrath as he demonstrated how to meaningfully incorporate accessibility and inclusion into AI implementation, as well as teaching us all A LOT about the Titanic... ?? My job this week is to definitely set aside some time and properly engage with all of the tools he mentioned. Philippa Wraithmell closed the day by bringing it all back to the importance of your digital strategy and, as Daren White would say, the imperative of the why rather than the what. After nine hours of exceptional learning, it was a totally fitting way to finish. A huge thank you to everyone involved for organising such a timely and inspiring event, including all the staff and students at the Cambridge School of Bucharest who made us all feel so welcome. I will be very sorry to leave a snowy Bucharest, but I will definitely see you again next year! AI In Education The Digital Futures Group

Check out my latest blog, focused on academic integrity in the era of AI. I revisit my previous blog about the reliability and discriminatory issues surrounding so-called "AI detection" ?? and take a glimpse at the rise in AI detector bypasser tools, exploring the potential impact on assessment and some things that educators need to consider. https://lnkd.in/ee9Zb2Gy The Digital Futures Group #AiInEducation
