There's a new face behind the front desk at de Paul! Ms. Radaker has transitioned from teaching in Team 2 into the office to serve as our Registrar & Community Liaison! Did you know that 98% of de Paul alumni are accepted into their first choice high school? Last night, our Team 7 & 8 students got a chance to meet and chat with representatives (and some familiar de Paul faces!) from thirteen high schools in our community. We loved having some of our recently graduated Huskies “back home” in the gym for High School Night to talk with our current middle school students and give them some advice and guidance as they prepare for the next steps in their educational journey! #Thedepauldifference

What does #thedepauldifference mean for parent teacher conferences? On Friday, we invited our parents and guardians to attend our Hopes and Dreams Conferences – where they had a chance to share the hopes and dreams they have for their child for this school year and beyond! Teachers and parents work collaboratively to set personalized goals to ensure that each child has all the support they need to have an incredible year and truly experience #TheJoyofLearning!

Do you know what it takes to get a black belt in reading? For our Team 3 students it means 4,000 minutes of reading outside of school! As they build up their skills by reading every night, they will earn new stripes on their belt until they reach the black belt level! We can’t wait to watch our Huskies on their reading journey this year! #thedepauldifference

Welcome our new Team 4 teacher - Ms. Holly Newman! Let's give her a warm, Husky welcome in the comments! Here is an introduction to Ms. Newman in her own words: "I am so excited to join the de Paul team. I am married, I have two sons 14 and 12, and two dogs! Our family moved to Louisville almost 3 years ago, and we love it here! I have been teaching 1st grade in Oldham county, and before that I taught kindergarten for 4 years in South Beloit, Illinois, and am currently working on my Masters in Special Education. I absolutely love teaching, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students at de Paul and their families. I love coffee, sunshine, running, reading and watching all the sports my boys play! My life motto comes from my great aunt who was also a teacher, she always said, “Leave every person and place a little better off than you found it.”"
