On any given day, Tyler Plowucha gets to collaborate with and learn from the expertise of teammates across Davey Tree. It’s what he loves most about his job as production manager, Commercial Landscape Services (CLS), Jacksonville, Florida, territory. “Everybody in CLS is always bouncing ideas off of each other, whether it’s my branch manager, operations manager, our technical advisor, or other crew leaders or people in CLS I’ve met,” Tyler says. When he joined Davey about two and a half years ago, he hit the ground running to develop as much expertise as he could – both through day-to-day conversations with colleagues and through formal trainings. “Once you show you’re proficient, your branch manager, operations manager, all the way up to senior leadership, they come to trust you to make the decisions you need to make,” Tyler says. “And a lot of that is backed by the education and collaboration within Davey. If I have a question about turf, I can reach out to my technical adviser. And if someone asks, ‘Hey, why’d you make this decision?’ I can do a walk-through of what pointed us in that direction.” By living Davey’s value of expertise, Tyler confidently communicates with clients and educates them about what sets Davey’s services apart. “I think clients expect expertise out of Davey, but it definitely helps when you have the confidence to back it up,” he says. “I want them to know that we’re not just throwing random stuff on their yards. Five Davey offices from the Chicagoland area donned green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in one of the best ways: PARADES!!! ???? Davey team members and their families had a blast being a part of several local traditions this year. Our Northwest Chicago Team dressed up and celebrated to their heart's content at the Thom McNamee Memorial St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dundee, Illinois. ? Our Glen Ellyn office made a green splash at the Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade. ? In addition, our Barrington team put their creative caps on and brought an awesome Davey-touch to their Palatine St. Patrick's Day Parade. We also had our Naperville office team members at the West Suburban Irish parade in Naperville, Illinois, and our West Chicago team at the St. Charles parade, both great traditions held in great communities. ? With severe weather forecast for parts of Alabama and Mississippi this weekend, including tornadoes and hailstorms, Davey Utility services crews are traveling to support communities where storm damage and power outages may occur. Close to 100 Davey employees from our Utility services are traveling from parts of the Gulf Coast and as far away as the Carolinas to support our crews already on the ground in the area. Wishing you a joyous Holi! Holi, sometimes called the Festival of Love or the Festival of Colors, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring. It is an opportunity to rejoice in the colorful nature of life as the world starts waking up from winter. ?????? The tree pictured is called the palash flower tree and this seasonal bloom has a Holi connection. When the flowers are soaked in water overnight, they create a fragrant yellow-orange colored liquid called Kesari, which is the traditional paint of Holi.
