Brain Awareness Week began nearly 30 years ago with a simple idea: sharing the wonders of the brain and the impact brain science has on our everyday lives can inspire us, connect us, and drive progress in science, health, and society. ? Since then, it’s grown into a global movement, bringing neuroscience beyond the lab into classrooms and communities to foster public support for brain science. ? Thank you to everyone—our team at Dana Foundation, our partners at International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) and Federation of European Neuroscience Societies - FENS, and the volunteers who make this week possible year after year—your passion continues to shape a future where brain science is accessible and impactful. Sharing here a video of Dana Foundation staff reflections on their own experiences with Brain Awareness Week! ? #BrainAwarenessWeek #BrainWeek #Neuroscience #Neurosociety

This week (March 10-16, 2025) is Brain Awareness Week! Today I shared my interest in the brain with second grade students at Wellington Elementary School. When I asked the students how neurons could talk to each other if the neurons had a space between them, one student responded, "With chemicals!" Yes, a second grader understood that neurons communicate with chemical messengers. At the end of my presentation, I was given this "Thank You Card" that was decorated with neurons that each of the students created. #brainweek #brainawarenessweek
