Let’s Talk Self-Awareness In my interview with Shomari A. James on Expediting Change, we discussed the journey to becoming more self-aware. When asked for tips on supporting this journey, I shared a few key insights: 1. Acknowledge the need to disrupt your own thinking. Growth begins when you challenge the narratives you hold as absolute truth. 2. Trust your personal board of directors. Surround yourself with people who are honest enough to call you out when needed—and be willing to listen. 3. Be curious about other perspectives. Self-awareness deepens when you intentionally seek to understand views outside your own. The journey to self-awareness requires a personal commitment to step into discomfort and move beyond ego. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it. Reflect on the areas in your life where you may be resistant to change or feedback. Who could you trust to give you honest insights?
